Although we started with some Valentine’s Day inspiration yesterday and the ideas are flowing, they’ve got to be put on the back burner for some Super Bowl Sunday ideas, since it’s just a few days away. It’s kind of ironic when you think about it, if you stereotype the two events as one super-macho and one super-girly, that they’re so close to each other! Fine by me, especially if my guy wins a nice chunk of change in a Super Bowl pool, I better have a nice V-day gift coming my way! Anyway, I heard on the radio today that approximately 7 million people call out of work the Monday after Super Bowl. Can you imagine!?! I didn’t think it was that crazy of a day, but apparently so. Will you be doing anything special on Super Bowl Sunday?

Happy Groundhog Day! As you probably have heard by now, Punxsutawney Phil saw this shadow this morning, signifying six more weeks of “winter.” I say “winter” because it’s been in the 60′s the past few days! How has it been where you live? I know it’s not an important – or realistic – holiday, but Groundhog Day fascinates me. Valentine’s Day is just a little bit less than two weeks away and it’s popping up in my mind. I always think about doing something fun and putting together a nice table, dinner, desserts, etc and then I get lazy. So maybe if I start now, I’ll have it all together by February 14th

I came across this modern dining table on Trendir yesterday and I have to say, I’m really feelin’ it. The base of the table is fairly traditional with it’s German oak structure and carved legs. But add that satin white painted cover and it’s like Two-Face from Batman. (Way better looking and not at all a villain, of course).

If I could, I’d fill my whole house with fifteen different dinnerware sets. Lately, I’m especially drawn to square dishes, which started with the white set shown above. Now that I’ve had the all white for about six months, I’m looking to bring in some with a bit of color.
